NRSWA Liaison Officer

We are currently recruiting for our client, an International Telecommunications Organisation for a NRSWA Liaison Officer to join their project in UK.
Our client is a world-leading provider of telecommunications equipment & services to mobile & fixed network operators. Over 1,000 networks in more than 180 countries use their equipment & more than 40 percent of the world's mobile traffic passes through their networks.

Responsibilities:
- To ensure that Ericsson is represented at all Statutory Meetings with the various Local Authorities under The New Roads and Street Works Act, 1991, in the area between Birmingham and the South Coast of England;
- To ensure the good reputation of Ericsson with Government departments, local authorities and customers is maintained;
- To ensure that all public liability claims arising from company excavation works are fully investigated to avoid unnecessary compensation claims against Ericsson;
- Represent Ericsson on HAUC(UK) and all regions JUG if required;
- Represent Ericsson on HAUC Working Parties, which influence current and future legislation, if required;
- Attend statutory local government and co-ordination meetings in the appointed area, if required;
- Liaise with all affected parties e.g. Police, Highways Authorities, Planning Departments etc, so that time scales are advantageous to Ericsson and operations run smoothly.

Qualifications/Professional experiences Required:
- 5+ years’ experience as a NRSWA officer/manager;
- An in-depth knowledge of The New Roads and Street Works Act, 1991, and its ancillary legislation and the various Codes of Practice;
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills are required;
- A knowledge of appropriate Highways Authorities personnel will be required;
- Confident, helpful, customer-oriented;
- Have good experience of street works systems (Symology, etc.) together with excellent knowledge of the noticing/permitting types and protocols associated with street works;
- Knowledge of the catalogue of HAUC & NJUG published advice notes;
- Knowledge of the various trench excavation methods, including but not limited to: manual digging, top-cutting, mechanical trenching, narrow trenching, mole-ploughing, directional-drilling, etc;
- Good knowledge of backfill & reinstatement materials & their associated HAUC approval status.
