BSS Project Manager - UKA BSS Project Manager is needed for our client, a prestigious international Telecommunications company in the UK on a contract basis. Fluent English is required as well as eligibility to work in UK.
Job Description:
The Project Manager will be part of a team managing team’s delivery against the overall project plan integrating activities for a major BSS project, based in the UK.
Scope:
Planning, scheduling and managing all SI activities internally with team and the Customer
Closely monitor the progress of each stream day by day.
Identify all internal dependencies between program streams and manage delivery of those on time
Identify all significant risks and ensure that early mitigation strategies are put in place to prevent project slippage
Provide regular status reporting to all stakeholders
Arrange and run meetings to review project progress against the plan internally and external with VM
Arrange and execute re-planning sessions caused by changes in scope during the project life-cycle
Requirements:
Essential knowledge/skills/experience:
5 years minimum experience as a Project Manager in complex, large scale tel-co projects with significant SI activity
Total delivery focus and ability to deliver the project to expectations despite many challenges
Ability to work across cultural and organizational boundaries, and operate successfully in a demanding Customer environment
Exceptional problem solving and flexibility
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Strong negotiation and inter-personal skills
Ability to remain calm and courteous with demanding/difficult customers and/or situations and deliver under pressure
Ability to provide concise and clear, written and verbal reports
Proven ability to interact within a multi-cultural environment
Essential qualifications:
Degree in IT, Tel-co or one of other relevant disciplines
Proficiency with MS Project is a must
Recognized project management qualification desirable (PMI/PRINCE) but not mandatory
