The role is based in the north west.
The Role:

To take technical responsibility for the DCS Systems within an individual project when acting as the Lead.
To provide technical and organisational leadership to a team of engineers on DCS projects as required.
To provide status reports of project progress to the project manager or Lead Engineer.
To be the contact point for the client on all aspects of the DCS design and implementation.
To produce the Functional Design Specifications for the DCS system as defined in the project URS or supervise the production of.
To produce detailed design specifications from the user I/O lists and sequence
specification documents.
To supervise or implement the detailed design, by producing function block programming (using engineering software tools), to implement the DCS system SIFs for the logic solver. This includes all shutdown logic as per the cause and effects; hardware interface and graphic screen interface.
To produce method statements detailing the tasks, materials and procedures required to achieve objectives on-site.
To ensure that all project tasks are being completed in accordance with the project plan, and report any problems or deviations to the project manager.
To carry out or supervise system testing either on the premises or the customer
site
To assist/advise in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of equipment on site.

Key Responsibilities

Production of DCS control system under direction from the Principal Engineer.
Provide progress information to the project manager.To ensure the DCS systems are designed and tested to the requirements of the user specifications and the company work instructions.

Confident and assertive individual with the ability to work on own initiative.
Professional and responsive approach, to gain credibility through integrity, technical knowledge and personality Able to deal effectively and efficiently with people and systems, whether internal or external.
Willingness to work offshore or overseas to suit project requirements.

Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering, C&I or Computing
BOSIET and medical certificate for offshore working or willingness to
undergo training Functional Safety certificate by a competent body such as Technis, ESC Ltd or TUV
Desirable : Further qualifications in Computing, Quality, Validation.

Essential : Minimum 2 years functional safety experience with reliability calculations.

Minimum 5 years experience with DCS systems configuration
Involved in all aspects of the safety life cycle realisation phase
Desirable : Programming within the Workbench environment using Function blocks
for the ProSafe-RS and yGet experience.
