For one of our project at the European Commission in Brussels we are urgently looking for a

Master Data Management (MDM) expert

to set up the foundations of Master Data Management (MDM), define its architecture

and governance, and identify tools supporting MDM at corporate level.

TASK DESCRIPTION

  • Determination of essential characteristics of an MDM system, to ensure unicity and

quality, to gather scattered reference data into a reference repository, to organize

interoperability with external MDM system.

  • Analysis of existing MDM implementations at the European Commission and ISA

recommendations regarding data management

  • Analysis of European Commission (EC) User Requirements about MDM
  • Elaboration of a Business Case for MDM, showing the value of its adoption and the costs induced by poor data quality
  • Definition of the architecture perspectives supporting MDM (including Business
  • Architecture, Functional Architecture, Information architecture and Application and
  • Service Architecture)
  • Definition of a methodology supporting MDM (data modelling, data distribution) tightly integrated with existing BPM and SOA methodologies
  • Definition of Governance mechanisms and specification of Roles and Responsibilities
  • Description of MDM solution deployment and operational activities to make it alive and manageable
  • Advice to the elaboration of an EC Common Data Model
  • Collaboration with the Product Management service to consider MDM market offerings
  • Participation in meetings within the Commission

REQUIRED EXPERTISE

- At least 9 years of experience in Enterprise and IT Architecture

- Proven experience of SOA and BPM

- Good experience of Data Governance and Data Quality

- Good understanding of Open Data and Semantic Technologies

- Good experience in enterprise web application development (experience in JEE

environment is considered as an asset)

- Up to date know-how in Internet web applications development

- Ability to work with a high degree of rigour and method

- Ability to work in a team

- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments

- Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European

Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, on large projects

- Ability to participate in multilingual meetings

- Fluent oral and written communication in English

Environment

- The tool used for Enterprise Architecture modelling is ARIS

- The SOA and BPM environments are Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g (or higher)

- The technical environment is based on Oracle 10 RDMS and Weblogic 10 (or higher)

- All documents must be written in Word, PowerPoint 2010
