Role - Business Analyst -Digital -Protection Products - Edinburgh - £380/day

Purpose of the Programme

Our client, a leading UK retail bank require the services of a Business Analyst to work on a project looking at the Initial analysis work to understand the high level business requirements for a new Point of Sale system/s.

The work will take into account the spectrum of points at which propositions might be sold and the regulatory advice regime that might be used

  • Points at which a product might be sold include On line, Face to Face, Telephony
  • Propositions include Protection, Investments and At  Retirement
  • Advice regimes include ICOBS, COBS, Advised and Non Advised

The work will consider the high level business requirements in terms of outputs, including (inter alia) the report capability, CRM linkages and MI required.

The work will consider the high level business requirements in terms of the customer journey.

The work will consider the potential coverage of POS system [s] and possible route maps with associated high level analysis and recommended solution.

Purpose of the Role

Key Accountabilities:

  • Requirements Elicitation:
    Manages business engagement to understand, challenge and document underlying business needs, translating these into project scope, objectives and business goals.
  • Requirements Development:
    Designs and facilitates business need workshops to analyse, define and prioritise requirements, challenging thinking and agreeing outcomes to ensure robust requirements development and approval.
  • Requirements Management:
    Defines and manages the documentation of business requirements (including requirements catalogues and traceability matrices) and prepares business case underpinning solution options.
  • Solution Assessment & Validation:
    Understands and articulates the effect of proposed solutions, creating accurate and detailed as-is and to-be business models incorporating process and benefit analysis, people and customer impact assessment. Develops cross business and service user acceptance plans and communications to support implementation.
  • Consultancy Advice & Domain Knowledge:
    Maintains good knowledge of an individual business/product area and working knowledge of additional business/product areas, providing business analysis insight for ad hoc queries, consulting requests, independent reviews and management of quality assurance activity.
  • Structure Approach:
    Defines business analysis approach, applies project best practice throughout the life cycle with supporting documentation and tools, promoting equivalent behaviour across the team.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Engages a variety of stakeholders across priority business/product areas, owning and gathering specification input, delivering high quality work and maintaining relationships post project close.
  • People & Self Development:
    Builds and maintains effective working and influencing relationship with appropriate colleagues to share knowledge and best practice. Takes responsibility for self development and that of any direct reports, actively seeking and providing feedback and responding accordingly.
  • Risk:
    Owns resolution of business analysis issues, identifying and managing mitigating actions against design risks as directed by the Lead Business Analyst.
