Role: Network Engineer - CCNALocation: Cork
Rate: €350-€400
Type: 6 Month Contract
One of Irelands leading banking institutions has a number of projects forecast for the coming months. They are actively seeking a Network Engineer who is available to begin a 6 month contract. Network Engineer you will be working as part of a team, working within Wintel Cisco environments and utilising VMWare.
Day-to-day
- The position is for a network engineer to support all network infrastructure necessitating the need for a highly skilled all round network and firewall support technician.
- A good technical knowledge of Cisco switches and routers and Netscreen/Juniper firewalls is essential.
- A good technical knowledge of HP ProCurve switches, Cisco Content Engines, Blue Coat proxies, McAfee Web Gateway and other web products would be an advantage.
- The role requires extensive experience in troubleshooting network problems with experience in implementing, maintaining and supporting networks based on Cisco, Netscreen/Juniper and F5 products.
- The role combines elements of problem solving, problem management and rapid technical response with the emphasis on maintaining and improving operational stability. Ongoing reviews of the infrastructure with recommendations on how to improve stability are also required.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and their use to deal with incidents as well as experience in using them to identify and prevent future problems is an essential part of the role.
Requirements:
- CISCO Qualification CCNA Qualified (minimum) CCNP (ideal)
- Experience of High Level Troubleshooting
- Configuring Switches and Routers
- Experience with Hardware and Software based Firewalls
- CISCO, Checkpoint, Juniper, Netgear
- WAN / LAN / WLAN
- TCP/IP
- Cisco Nexus
- You must also have first class communication skills
