Frontend Development
  • Write high-performance, reusable code for eCommerce UI components using HTML5, CSS, and Javascript
  • Write CSS using stylsheet languages such as LESS or SASS
  • Design and build scalable frameworks for eCommerce applications
  • Consider localization, scalability, and ease of maintenance in all solutions
  • Manage through cross-browser compatibility issues and browser degradation strategies
  • Develop UI components and web pages optimized for desktop, mobile devices and tablet devices using responsive frameworks
  • Perform visual and functional QA of web pages that have been developed based on your HTML to make sure they match the mockups from the graphic design team.
  • Apply a strong sense of interaction design to your work (while you may not be a design expert, you will still have an eye for ease of use and aesthetics of the user interface)
  • Take Photoshop PSD files of design mockups and build HTML / HTML5 web pages: slice and optimize images, create the HTML5, CSS3 style sheets, and style guides for use by the software development team.

  • Provide guidance and leadership to the eCommerce Design team and review work with the UI Design team by providing concerns and technical implementation considerations for the designs they create
  • Demonstrated ability to define new approaches to complex design problems and convey solutions in the form of presentations, click through prototypes, and design specifications.
  • Must be process driven, possess strong prototyping design skills, careful attention to detail and have a solid understanding of user centered design principles


  • Skills & Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in CS or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience integrating front end with backend web services
  • Strong command of JavaScript, HTML/HTML5, DOM, CSS/CSS3, JSON
  • Strong experience with Bootstrap
  • Strong experience with jQuery and jQuery UI
  • Strong experience with git
  • Familiarization with contemporary JavaScript MVC frameworks
  • Familiarity with PHP is beneficial, but expertise is not required
  • Knowledge of user interface design and strong communication skills to work with business counter parts to create compelling consumer experiences
  • Forward-thinking; Interest in latest trends and emerging technologies on the web
  • Exceptional decision making and time management skills in determining how heavily to invest in proper design based on present and future constraints
