My client requires a Big Data Hadoop Developer to design & Implement Big Data Core Platform components and services using Scala in a Hadoop environment. The Developer should be highly proficient in Scala, Agile Development and capable of mentoring other team members with less knowledge. They will be asked to lead small teams of developers for specific tasks, to review code and provide education and assistance to make other team members grow in their Scala skills. The role will require to work across a spectrum of requirements across different banking functions
* Responsible for producing code to implement the Big Data Core Platform integrating standard Hadoop components.
Essential
* Hands-on/technical experience with high proficiency on Scala and knowledge of Big Data/Hadoop including the following -Deep knowledge of Scala and Back End development languages and techniques including but not limited to: Java, Scala, Python, AKKA, NoSQL (MongoDB, OrientDB, Cassandra, HBase)
*Understanding of Hadoop core concepts
*Experience in implementing big data solutions ( > 2 billion data entries sets)
*Hive. MapReduce/YARN. Cascading, Scalding. Kafka
*HDFS. Hbase
*Storm with the skill to write complex and optimized topologies (spouts and bolts)
*Spark + Shark will be an added advantage
*Object Oriented Programming
*Big Data
*Capable of designing strategic solutions
