My Client a global underwriter in the London insurance market are currently recruiting for a Solvency II Pillar 3 Business Analyst to support their Solvency II Pillar 3 Programme

The Solvency II Pillar 3 Business Analyst will be required to

  • To fully understand the business problems and capture requirements and document end-to-end processes to inform and assist the decision making process.
  • To deliver accurate and robust analysis (people, process or technology) and to develop Functional Specifications and Requirement Documents where appropriate.
  • To support development and testing of new solutions delivered within the Programme.
  • To enable change and act as a bridge between Finance, Actuaries and IT to deliver a successful end solution that meets the needs of the Solvency II Pillar III programme.
  • Prior BAU line experience with Insurance technical accounting and Actuarial Reserving would be highly desirable, as well as hands-on Solvency II Pillar III reporting experience.

Main Duties

  • To own the capture and documentation of business requirements, processes and functional specifications to support the SII Pillar III reporting programme.
  • To complete change deliverables throughout the life cycle of a project eg business requirements, functional specifications/design, testing scenarios, business impact and change readiness assessments, facilitate user acceptance testing, training.
  • To develop current state, root cause analyses and future state end to end functional design for assigned work requests on the Solvency II programme.
  • To support Project Managers and/or other Business Analysts in the delivery of change and analysis.
  • To liaise and work with the Architecture teams to understand the strategic direction of the business, the IT strategy and its architecture in order to ensure business requirements and process designs/proposals are fully aligned with the their systems roadmap.
  • To manage stakeholder expectations through engagement and regular communication.
  • To build mutually beneficial and sustainable relationships across dependent internal teams.

Essential Skills

  • Full or part qualified accountant or Actuary preferable but not mandatory
  • Systems Accountant background highly desirable
  • SME/BAU line experience preferable but not mandatory
  • Solvency II Pillar reporting experience highly desirable
  • An understanding of, or qualification in, ISEB (Information Systems Examining Board) or equivalent relating to Business Analysis highly desirable
  • Demonstrable experience as a business analyst in an Insurance organisation with good understanding of the commercial insurance/reinsurance industry, in particular London Market processes is mandatory
