An integral role in a major UK institution has become available for an interim Head of Data Science to come on board and define the strategy for a team of Data Scientists to lead the way in how they use consumer and on line data to maximise analytical capability and data architecture within the organisation.
The successful freelance Head of Data Science will be able to influence the organisations goals with their own ideas and concepts and will be given the responsibility to present their strategic decisions to key stakeholders as well as build a team around them.
Essential Experience
? Advanced knowledge of statistics and machine learning (including Bayesian statistics)
? Experience of extracting, merging, cleaning, and manipulation of large data sets.
? Experience in either: R, Tableau, Graphite, SAP Business Objects, SAS or similar.
? Experience of leading teams including data scientists
? Experience with building predictive statistical, behavioural or other models and machine learning, statistical analysis, and other predictive techniques.
Desirable Experience
? Knowledge of Ruby, Python, Matlab, and SQL
? NOSQL, Hadoop, Hive or other similar tools
? Databases and/or data models
? Statistics (Regression, Clustering)
