Progress OpenEdge DBA - VST, Replication, Dataservers, REST architecture, Sonic MQ, French Speaking
My client, a leading European consultancy, are looking for an experienced OpenEdge DBA to join their client for an initial 6 month contract. This will be based in Luxembourg, the consultant will need to be able to speak and write both French and English.
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Practical experience in designing and validating database application models and code
- Practical experience in monitoring and tuning production databases
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database and system issues
- Knowledge and experience of query languages: ABL/4GL, SQL
- Proven knowledge and experience of Scripting on Unix/Linux (Korn Shell, Python, Perl )
- Expert knowledge of indexing, and experience in index and statistics management
- Ability to understand and write technical documentation in English
Technical
- Very good knowledge of Progress OpenEdge functionalities (10.x, 11.x)
- Knowledge of advanced features of Progress OpenEdge database technology is a strong differentiator: VST, Replication, DataServers, REST architecture, Sonic MQ
- Knowledge of other database technologies is a plus: Oracle, Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ
- Good knowledge of Database modelling principles and tools (Mega, ErWin, )
- Good knowledge of monitoring tools (OpenEdge Management, Patrol )
- Good knowledge of operating systems (AIX 6.1, Solaris 10, Windows )
- Good knowledge of Scripting languages (Korn Shell, Python, Perl )
