Supervises and directs team members on assigned shift in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and facilities.

Duties include:
  • Assists in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists in solving work problems.
  • Handles unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refers to appropriate individual.
  • Schedules and assigns responsibilities for preventive maintenance on assigned shift, working within established deadlines and objectives, production schedules, and budgets.
  • Oversees, or participates in PM; reviews work for compliance of machinery conformance to production and safety specifications.
  • Schedules and assigns work for projects assigned to shift team.
  • Interacts and confers with supervisors and management to coordinate shift activities, resolve machinery issues, and meet production goals. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Researches and requests order of parts.
  • Plans requisitions within budget controls.
  • Prepares reports for work orders, PM, costs, etc.
  • Maintains time and maintenance records.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Allen-Bradley Remote I/O, Ethernet, and DeviceNet communication networks
  • Program, maintain and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PanelView (or equivalent) operator interface hardware
  • Installs and maintains servo controllers, sensors, and transmitters
  • Works with the Maintenance Manager to establish a training plan for mechanics and other technical positions to increase bench strength in controls, electrical and automation
  • May perform other duties as required.

SKILLS:

  • Four year bachelor's degree; Electrical Engineering or a closely related science degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance.
  • Minimum 4 years experience in supervision in a unionized environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Proven experience in coaching and developing teams.
  • Strong programming and maintenance knowledge of SLC-500, Allen-Bradley PLC-5, ControlLogix, MicroLogix and other Allen-Bradley hardware
  • Allen-Bradley PLC programming implementing RSLogix500, RSLogix5, and RSLogix5000 software
  • Allen-Bradley PowerFlex Series, 1336 Plus II, 160 and 1305 variable frequency drive programming
  • Team building, effective time management, and process ownership skills are a must
