Description

  • Seeking a Hardware and Software Support Analyst as backup administrator of the message switch to include, gathering statistics from the message switch; assign user identifications and passwords, and change/reset passwords as needed. 
  • Monitor teletype traffic for errors and troubleshoot to ensure successful transmission of messages for approximately 150 terminals and 2,500 users on the network; make daily decisions concerning system security, help users with questions. 
  • Provide off-hours support on an as needed basis, sharing off-hours responsibility and rotating schedules with the ISO.
  • This position is also responsible for hardware and software set up of computers used; will plan, create and manage master images for PC deployments; will install, configure, deploy, troubleshoot and inventory equipment. 
  • Configure and troubleshoot network connections for the approximately 150 terminals on the  network.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • This position works during normal business hours but is subject to call for emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3 years' experience working with computers running Windows XP and Windows 7, experience with Server 2008 or greater; networking experience and understanding of TCP/IP Networking in an Ethernet environment. 
  • Preference given to candidates possessing experience with message switching in a law enforcement environment and a strong background in rules governing message keys and knowledge of how these keys and message field codes are set up as well as knowledge of  policies. 
  • Comprehension of computer programming and file structures is desired but not mandatory. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license or have the ability to provide independent transportation.
