Description

Context:

- Trace the origin, characteristics, production process and the location of the concerned materials.

- Manage the accompanying technical documents (FTMR) and certificates.

- Check the conformity of the piping component and its certificates before use.

- Follow-up production & control of the certificates.

In order to achieve above-mentioned objectives; Fluxys has opted to attribute an unique individual number to each piping component. The current AS-IS solution consists of a custom developed solution in SAP that allows to link individual numbers to material documents in a stand-alone (not integrated) table.

Current solution has many disadvantages, of which the most important ones are:

- Data quality issues

- High maintenance costs

- No system integration with SAP PM (Operations)

The main goal of this project is to replace current solution by a SAP standard based solution. The envisioned SAP standard based solution must overcome the above-described hurdles, and integrate fully within SAP. Substantial number of material types - piping components - is pipes. The unit of measurement for pipes is m; thus a non-discrete unit. Given the large variability in length of pipes delivered by the manufacturer and need of accurate MRP-run; the unit of measurement of pipes should remain in m. In this context, a combination of serial numbering and batch management has been investigated and withheld as preferred solution: batch management is used for all gas material components managed in non-discrete units of measurement (eg meters for pipes), and serial numbering on all gas material components with discrete units (eg pieces for metering devices).

Until now, pipes are not installed as equipment in SAP PM. Hence, only piping components subject to serial numbering management are installed as equipment in SAP PM. It is foreseen in the project to establish integration between SAP MM, SAP PS and SAP PM.

A conceptual design has already been delivered and approved in the format of a blueprint. The implementation stage has started, and we are currently looking for reinforcement of the team. A crucial competence for this resource is experience with set-up of the MRP.

Apart from the material traceability track, which will be the primary assignment of the consultant, he/she may also work on the PS-track (logistic aspects) of the program. Therefore, PS-experience is an asset.

Role:
Primary assignment: analyst for the material handling and traceability project. Adapting the set-up of the MRP, will be one of the major responsibilities. Secondary assignment: analyst on the PS-track (logistic aspects) of the program.

Under the overall coordination of the lead analyst on the material traceability track, he/she will

Do the actual customizing.

Write specifications for development.

Test the solution (unit/component testing, system testing, integration testing, assistance in user acceptance testing). Documentation of test cases in SAP Solution Manager.

Assist the business in data cleansing/data migration activities.

Deliver support and issue resolution during testing and go-live.

Profile:

We are looking for a motivated medior SAP MM logistic consultant with knowledge of integration between MM, PM and WM (ECC).
