Hardware Engineering Technician
My Client, A leading Aerospace organisation based in Cheltenham is urgently seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Technician to be based onsite for at least 12 months. This is a full time role working between the hours of 8:30 am- 5pm Monday- Friday.
Role Summary/Purpose
This new role encompasses support to a range of engineering disciplines with exposure to various electronic systems, products and technologies.
Hardware Engineering Technicians provide hands-on support for aviation products and components during the development life cycle.
Essential Responsibilities
As a Hardware Engineering Technician, you will provide engineering support to products under development. You will work within a team of engineers, carrying out prototype product commissioning, testing, fault investigation and qualification. You will also assist the Design Team in resolving engineering/design issues.
Key Activities:
- Commissioning development/prototype equipment, involving defect investigation down to component level.
- Assisting the Design Team in preparing changes to technical documentation, drawings, bills of materials, etc.
- Ensuring compliance with mandatory regulations, standards and company processes.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Qualification to HNC or above in an electronic discipline or similar level of knowledge and experience.
- Experience of defect investigation and rectification to component level and familiarity with standard electronics lab' tools such as Oscilloscopes, DVMs etc.
- Experience working in a similar environment, not limited to aerospace.
- Experience of working with Surface Mount and Through-Hole mount components, including their general handling and soldering
