We are a Commercial and Residential Property Management company based in Horsforth, Leeds, recruiting for an experienced Surveyor to join our family run team.  You will have the ability to drive the business forward whilst focussing on high standards and delivering results.

We manage a portfolio of 100+ properties, in excess of 300 tenants, including national and independent tenants, primarily located in market towns across Yorkshire.

Key responsibilities:

Property Portfolio Management, including:-


  • Vacant property management – improve and maintain levels of occupancy, maximising rental income and minimising void property costs
  • Develop and maintain strong Landlord and Tenant relationships
  • Negotiate and seek out Asset Management Opportunities
  • Identifying and implementing major Refurbishment, Conversion and Development projects (improving, changing & creating).
  • Manage Letting Agents performance to secure suitable tenants for vacant commercial properties, carrying out due diligence, agree Heads of Terms, and working with Solicitors regarding Tenancy Agreements
  • Acquisitions
  • Commercial rent reviews, lease renewals and assignments
  • Liaising with property consultants to provide periodic portfolio valuations and finance providers for re-finance purposes
  • Instructing property consultants to produce dilapidation surveys for end of tenancy and ensure works are completed and tenant meets financial obligations
  • Annual & periodic inspections of properties to identify any works required and agree plans
  • Prioritising and organising essential Health and Safety work and reactive maintenance works with Maintenance Team.
  • Life Cycle Costing for the portfolio including planned maintenance
  • Managing statutory compliance within Portfolio e.g. Asbestos
  • Managing insurance claims
  • Maintaining Property Management Records
  • Out of Hours Escalation – shared rota

Skills and knowledge:


  • Degree Level education & RICS qualification
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant H&S Law;  relevant property related regulations (asbestos/electrical)
  • Ability to engage and influence external stakeholders
  • Ability to deputise for Director when required
  • Knowledge of local area
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.  Knowledge/experience of property management software.  Currently using Re-Leased
