*Market Risk Auditor* (Contract)
Duration: 3 months (Possibility for Extension)
Location: London/Hybrid
Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day rate is available for suitable candidates
Overall Project Description
Market Risk Audit's validation of issues which have been resolved by the business. Issue subjects will include such things as market risk governance, measurement, modelling and reporting.
You will be tasked with validating issues to assess whether the issue owner has satisfactorily mitigated the underlying risks by establishing or enhancing sustainable controls. Close issues whose risks have been sufficiently mitigated through improved control effectiveness and re-open issues whose underlying risks have not been sufficiently mitigated.
For each issue, understand the underlying risks, the control weaknesses, and the actions committed by the issue owner to remediate the gaps. Develop and execute test programs to verify completion of committed corrective actions and confirm effectiveness and sustainability of control enhancements. Document results to support Corporate Audit's opinion.
Required Skills & Experience
- Subject matter knowledge of traded markets and market risk including risk factor sensitivities, market risk models [eg Value at Risk (VaR , and measurements (eg stress testing); second-line market risk management processes, including risk appetite and limit monitoring
- Audit experience performing issue validations and testing controls.
- Effective verbal and written communication capabilities to document results
- Subject matter knowledge of market risk management, modelling, and measurement (including market risk factor sensitivities, VaR, and stress testing)
- Audit issue validation skills to understand issue risks & action plans, design test programs, and test completed actions & control enhancements.
- Effective verbal and written communication capabilities to document results
