Network Operations Centers or NOCs, are intelligence powerhouses <\/strong>where all data<\/strong> on network performance is collected and tracked<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A NOC engineer <\/strong>– also known as a NOC Analyst<\/strong> or NOC Technician<\/strong> – is responsible for the overall performance and maintenance of NOCs. They operate, monitor and troubleshoot computer network systems <\/strong>and provide engineering support for issues<\/strong> connected with the network infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They perform a series of tasks such as the configuration and administration of routers,<\/strong> updating and maintaining firmware<\/strong> on a regular basis, analyzing network issues, and offering solutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, a NOC engineer <\/strong>also monitors system conditions, documents changes <\/strong>made to networks, creates technical manuals,<\/strong> and is responsible for maintaining network security. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They recognize faults with the current network setup, analyze issues, and work to develop solutions. They may also support the head of the NOC and other managers with regard to current incidents and\/or network issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
