When asked about their working hours, the vast majority of freelancers in Germany said that they <strong>worked an average of 40 hours per week.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This can be <strong>considered a high number<\/strong>, especially if you consider the fact that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destatis.de\/EN\/Themes\/Labour\/Labour-Market\/Quality-Employment\/Dimension3\/3_1_WeeklyHoursWorked.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">full-time employees in Germany<\/a> worked an average of 34.7 hours a week in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of <strong>vacation days, <\/strong>the average number of <strong>days that freelancers take off<\/strong> in a year was found to be<strong> 27. <\/strong>On the other hand, full-time employees in Germany are entitled to a minimum of 20 vacation days per year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In previous studies, freelancers confirmed that it doesn\u2019t really matter for them if it\u2019s Saturday, Sunday, or a national bank holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>40% of freelancers confirmed that they work on Saturdays and 21% also work on Sundays.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the majority of freelancers did work Monday to Thursday and 7% of freelancers were taking Fridays off (a 4-day working week).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"retire\">Planning for the future &#8211; Retirement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One can never start planning for their retirement too early.
