It was my responsibility the project planning, resource allocation and budget/profitability control.

Responsible for a “feasibility study and prototyping” required to support the Logistics Department in taking their decision about using SAP system (modules SD/MM/LE-TRA or TM) to replace their old Transport Management System (Non-SAP).
Drive a series of workshops with the Logistics Director and Top-level managers for mapping, reviewing and optimization of all internal company logistics processes (Master data, Transportation and route planning, picking, shipping, clients ‘reception acknowledgment and transport invoicing to customer, transport payment to vendor).
Identification of inefficient and non-value added activities in current processes.
Validate list of strategic orientations, process objectives and key success factors for the SAP implementation.
Definition of Key performance Indicators for the entire logistics process (from master data maintenance till the transportation invoicing control).

In the mission was included the configuration of a small SAP prototype including standard “SD-TRA transportation” functionalities, allowing business to have an operational view into the SAP way of working.

Install and manage the new department « Organization & Processes » created in the EPTA group. Recruit and manage team of 5 process managers to work all around Europe. The department had as goal “improve efficiency & reduce structure Costs” by process standardization, revision and optimization activities.

Permanent member of the “Program management” Steering committee, responsible for the validation, prioritization, coordination and follow-up of all projects concerning the improvement of EPTA group processes by revision of methods, resources assignment and IT support systems for all worldwide companies.
Listed below you can find a list with some examples of projects managed by me, while assuming the role of Group Manager for “Organization and Processes”:

- Total reorganization of one of the non-profitable manufacturing units of the group in France (Romorantin).

- Create new Centralized European Industrial planning processes.

  • This was a greenfield 46C implementation for a manufacturing group (discrete/assemble-to-order/engineer-to-order), including modules SD/MM/PP/WM/COPA/FI. Project Team of 16 persons + Key Users Being Team Leader for SD/LE and VC (Variant Configuration) modules. I took 4 consultants + 6 Key Users under my management from design phase till end of all roll outs.
I was responsible for the solution definition and system configuration of the European template for all the OTC processes, transportation and shipping, and correct integration of Variant Configuration in R&D, MRP, Sales and FI/CO.

Team Leader SAP SD in Greenfield implementation - Freelancer - (Amsterdam Netherlands)
British American Tobacco (Consumer goods and retail, >10.000 employees)

This project was the first step in the integration between Rothmans and BAT for what concerns systems and processes for Export Business (trading only).

The developed Template was the model for all new BAT SAP systems to be deployed in Europe.
This was a full life-cycle project with a team of 10 people assigned to it (hors developers) in 46C environment. Its Scope included the SAP modules SD/MM/FI/COPA.
I assumed the “Team leader” role for the SD/MM Modules with a dedicated Team of 3 Key-Users.

SAP SD Expert in Team “Strategic Studies/Feasibility Analysis" of an SAP European Competence Center - Freelancer - (Paris France)
RENAULT (Automotive and vehicle construction, >10.000 employees)

From 2000 to 2001 I integrated the newly created Renault Competence Center team “Strategic Studies and Feasibility Analysis” .
Working in tandem with each future SAP RENAULT project manager, I was responsible for matching the SAP processes and functionalities with the Business requirements of each project. In a second step, I developed a full working prototype for each project that was then presented to the business and, if validated, allowed the passage from “In-Study” to “Request for Quotation” phase after validation in “Program management committee”.
In this role, I developed prototypes (SAP Configuration) and delivered Gap analyses for the following projects:
   # FVN – Invoicing of Vehicles from European Subsidiaries  to Local Sales Network à Modules SD/MM/VC/FICO
   # PRF – Manufacturing Product Costing à Modules CO-PC, PP(BOMs and Routings)
   # Billing Mexico – Invoicing to Local Sales Network from Mexican Subsidiary à Modules SD/MM/FICO

In January 2001 I started my parallel participation in the PACIFIC project “Purchasing Application Connected to Internet for International Cooperation” as the Competence Center Consultant responsible for the Enterprise and Meta Data Modelling and Integration issues (in the Analysis phase). The PACIFIC project was the first SAP project designed to empower the synergies of the recent integration between RENAULT and NISSAN and concerned the Global Purchasing of Vehicle Components. It included functionalities from the modules MM/PS/PLM/B2B/SEM/Workplace.

SAP Logistics Expert in the Renault Competence Centre “Integration Team” - Freelancer - (Paris France)

In 1999 I assumed a role as Logistics Expert in the Renault Competence Centre “Integration Team” with a large palette of responsibilities:
- being responsible for the relation between Renault CC and the Mercosur projects
- Integrate the team responsible for the validation and definition of the new BW solution for Renault in the areas of Purchasing and Human resources (Data Models, Technical Infrastructure, extraction and loading procedures from multiple sources, queries and reporting)
- define a strategy for the automation of non-regression test procedures. As a result, I implemented the first complete package of automated non-regression tests using CATT (SAP computer aided testing tool) for the SD/MM/FICO domains.
- acted as the “SAP SD Expert Consultant” attached from the Competence Center to multiple ongoing projects. Working in close relation with several Renault project Managers, I helped them in identifying creative solutions for the correct adaptation of the SAP functionalities to business requirements. Alternatively, I supported them in the validation of drafted solutions as they were presented by external integrators during the life-cycle of each project.   • Largest SAP Implementation Project in South-America. Project 40B with modules SD/MM/PP/WM/PM/QM/COPA/FICO/HR.
    Gerdau is a leading producer of long steel in the Americas and one of the largest suppliers of special steel in the world with more than 14 manufacturing units in Brazil only. It also produces and commercializes all type of product lines related to steel (civil construction, agriculture, automotive, industry)
    I was engaged directly by SAP BRAZIL for this Greenfield implementation where I assumed the role of Team Leader for the SD-Sales & Distribution Team through all project life-cycle..
    Full ASAP Life-cycle including full Configuration of SD and Transportation Module. I managed a team of 12 persons in a project with more than 100 team elements + an ABAP factory of about 200 persons.

PWC Team Leader SD in Greenfield Implementation (Brazil)
Kaiser Brewery (Heineken) (Other, 1000-5000 employees)

Third largest brewery in Brazil (Process manufacturing industry). This Greenfield project was defined as a group template and was deployed on their major manufacturing and bottling unit (close to São Paulo).
The scope included the modules SD/MM/PP-PI/FICO.   
As Team Leader for the SD-Sales & Distribution module, I managed a team of 7 elements (2 consultants) within a project team of 35 through all phases of the project (from design to go-live support).
Full configuration of OTC processes including transportation, shipping and LIS.
I was also member of a dedicated Integration Team created to study and recommend transversal SAP solutions for complex problems.

02/1996 - 12/1996
PWC Team Leader SD Module in Greenfield Implementation (Portugal)
TMN - Mobile Télécommunications (Internet and Information Technology, 1000-5000 employees)

TMN was, at that time, the largest Mobile Telecommunications company in Portugal (Public sector) and biggest reseller of cellular phones, pagers,...). Scope included SD/MM/FICO and the project team was of 10 persons.
I took the role of Team Leader (in a team of 3) for the full SD-Sales & Distribution module from design till post go-live support.
Apart from the solution definition and full SD configuration of the SD Module I was also responsible for some SAP developments in ABAP/4 (for specific SD functionalities) and took under my wing the responsibility for a SIS implementation.
This project that connected several stores and distribution center all over the country, served later as an implementation model for an Irish Telecommunication Company.

PWC Consultant SD in Greenfield SAP Implementation + ABAP Developper (Portugal)
UNILEVER (Consumer goods and retail, 500-1000 employees)

Consultant Team member for the SD-Sales & Distribution module through all phases of the project (from design till post go-live support). In this SAP full life-cycle greenfield project I took the responsibility for the configuration of the SD Module, LIS Implementation and some ABAP developments.
Scope of the project was SD/MM/FICO for a team of 16 persons.
This was the first UNILEVER SAP project in Europe that had actual impact on one of their Central Distribution Warehouses. It was later used as base for the UNILEVER European template.
