Years of experience
For 16 years, I have been working with various data in the areas of health, defense and marketing. A broad education took place in mathematics at the ETH Zurich and at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics as well as at the Freie Universität Berlin in the modeling of biological processes. Method comparisons between machine learning, information theory and statistical approaches were carried out, own methods were developed and disseminated through workshops.
Organization specialist

For 9 years I have experience in information protection of organization up to 1000 persons in the digital as well as non-digital area. Information security can only be achieved with connecting business processes in an organization. This need for protection is currently receiving increasing attention with the latest online technologies and can be covered.

  • ISMS Specialist & Lead Auditor & Implementer according to ISO / IEC 27001, CBT Training & Consulting GmbH Munich
  • Doctor of Natural Sciences in Bioinformatic, Freie Universität Berlin
  • Diploma in Mathematics, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich
Sample projects: Interim-CTO of a biotech-startup; market analysis of a sharing platform; Determining a strategy for network-based marketing; Development of a minimal cloud solution and appropriate proces-ses for small businesses and work groups; Implementation and testing in collaboration with a partner.

Research associate

Research assistant
11/2004 – 08/2009, Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics, Berlin
* Challenges for the acquisition of information in biostatistics lie in high measurement inaccuracy and noise as well as numerous unknown disturbance and interaction effects;
* Data analysis of three technologies (biomedical measurement methods called Affymetrix gene expression array, Affymetrix exon array, Illumina next generation sequencing / RNA Seq) for the determination of gene activity in cells; Implementation of data processing and normalization in R and Bash with output as text, graphics and web server; Standardization of procedures;
* Method evaluation, e.g. statistical tests, machine learning, Bayesian networks and information theory based approaches; Development of new statistical methods for the identification of specific effects in biological cells, e.g. for time series evaluations; Application of the methods to several 1000 records in different fields such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, cancer or toxicology;
* Combining evaluated data from heterogeneous data sets and developing a method for meta-analysis in R / BioConductor integrating different results; Implementation of mathematical models in Python;
* Coordination with project partners at national and European level; Exchange with biological laboratory working groups with regard to experiment design and promoting own research challenges;
* Presenting the results as lectures at conferences and publishing as articles in scientific journals; Review of contributions to conferences and scientific journals;
* Organization of scientific seminars, continuing education courses and courses for doctoral students, as well as imparting knowledge of R in workshops; Support of student assistants, interns, bachelor and master students.
