Project history

PROJECTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
The most relevant Project I’ve worked at HSBC Global Technology was the HSBC Core Banking (HCB) from 2009 till 2014.
  • I started to manage the HCB team in Brazil (44 team members) on Sep/09 as Team Leader, being part of a global development team managed by HSBC GLT India.
  • It was defined by HSBC Group that the Pilot Implementation would be in Brazil and, in Feb/10 I was designated to start and lead the HCB Deployment Project.
  •  The team would have the challenge to build and implement the HCB Regional layer in Brazil, connecting the Global system to the Legacy, adapting it to the Brazil financial regulations.
  • I’ve ramped up the Regional team from 4 to ~100 resources in the first two years.
Budget
  • Around USD 23,5 million – spent on the first five years, from inception till deployment
  • Around USD 800k/year – for application support and maintenance
Project size
  • Modules (Cobol programs, copybooks, JCLs) – around 8.1k
  • LoC – around 750k
 Responsibilities
  • Technical lead
  • Face-off for HSBC Brazil client
  • Accountable for all the team’s deliverables: Use Cases, Solution Proposals, Technical Design, Code development and Unit Tests/Unit Integrated Tests
  • Resource manager: Hiring, Performance appraisals, Feedbacks, Coaching
  • Project Reports to clients and stakeholders; participation in project boards at all levels
  • Work in tandem with teams in India, Canada, US, China and HK
Achievements
  • Gained the confidence of HSBC Brazil and the HSBC global management teams, due to the Deployment team’s competence, engagement and quality of deliverables;
  • I’ve started a big movement alerting the global teams about the Global HCB quality issues and helped the global project team to create a plan to address them. If it wasn’t happened, the entire project would be at risk;
  • The Regional Code presented the lowest defect and retest ratios of the entire project (12%), considering all the project phases (UT/UIT, SIT, UAT) and parts (HCB Core, HCB Regional, Legacy Back and Front end);
  • I’ve managed and provided technical guidance for the teams (Brazil and India) during the HCB Performance Tuning, after pilot implementation. We reduced the daily Batch time from 10+ hours to ~90 minutes;
  • I've formed the Production Support team and created the basis for the Production Support Model implemented for HCB in Brazil, in collaboration with HK team;
Other projects (after moving to Bradesco)
From 2014 till 2016
  • Responsible for all Mainframe initiatives demanded for Scopus (technology branch of Bradesco Bank)
  • Ongoing maintenance projects and improvements
  • Around 60 resources
From 2016 till now (At Bradesco Insurance)
  •  Running multiple projects related to Insurance
  • Conducting a group of 4~6 BAs on:
    • Requirements gathering
    • Writing specs
  • Third part contracts management
  • Stakeholder management
  • Project reports
  • Project’s size varying from USD 100k to USD 1mi
