Project history

Since 2016: Independent consultant.

I work on projects that require a deep experience in financial markets and information technology. I also offer advice and consultancy on blockchain-related projects in the banking and finance areas, especially from a strategic and functional perspective.

Developed xbrl parser/validator software in Ruby. It reads xbrl files, extracts their data and verifies data point conflicts and (most) EBA verification rules - used by a bank as a verification tool for a sometimes buggy xbrl generator.

Speaker at several fintech and blockchain conferences, for example on “Business requirements for smart contract platforms.” Participated in Thomson Reuters Ethereum hackathon in London, my team’s project was on securities lending.

Work on a decentralised money platform based on peer-to-peer credit relationships.

2007-2016: Lombard Risk, London / Luxembourg. Managing consultant Luxembourg.

Analysed CRR / Basel 3 Market Risk regulations and led the implementation of Market Risk computation and reporting solution for Lombard Risk’s Basel software. Then helped to configure market risk reporting at The Co-operative bank. Provided ongoing support for consolidated Basel 3 reporting at EFG Group, Luxembourg.

Wrote interface to automate Luxembourg regulatory report transmission via Sofie.

Consultancy project for German bank on MiFID data sourcing and reporting requirements for options and futures. Payments reporting implementation project, working with a bank’s Olympic specialists to extract suitable data items from the banking system, then adding transformation and validation rules.

Developed STB-Luxembourg, a complete regulatory reporting package for Luxembourg banks, covering the entire range of BCL and CSSF reporting, including MiFID and COREP reporting. This was built using Lombard Risks’s proprietary toolset, SQL queries and add-ons written in Ruby. Output formats include xml and xbrl.

Responsible for ongoing product updates as well as client implementations at Sanpaolo Bank, Deka and The Northern Trust. Responsible for client support and adapting product to changes as required by regulators.

Helped develop Lombard Risk’s UK reporting product, wrote xml report generation modules covering 30 FSA reports.

2006: FERMAT, Paris. Project manager, Basel II projects.

Clients: Fortis (Brussels), Delta Lloyd Holding (Amsterdam), Delta Lloyd Bank (Brussels).

  • Support in setting up and running FERMAT software;
  • Interpretation of ICCMCS, CRD and local regulatory texts to help clients decide on appropriate approaches;

Setting up consolidated Basel II reporting for a group when group entities report to different supervisors;
