SKILLS:

Embedded C, Python, I2C, SPI, UART, Low power, BLE, GSM, Keil, Arduino, PSOC, ESP32, STM, Nordic, 9-axis  Sensors (MPU9250), MPU6050, SIM868 & SIM800L (with AT commands), Battery Management, Schematic designing, 2-Layer PCB Designing with Gerber development using KICAD & Altium, PCB testing.

EXPERIENCE:

Aghastya Electrotech Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore

Worked on the battery management system (BMS) controlling module of an electric vehicle (EV), which collected and calculated the data, and delivered the processed information to the user through a BLE app over the phone. Developed the firmware for hardware module (including ESP32 with ACS712 and LM35) using Arduino IDE, which included extraction of raw values of voltage, current, and temperature. Derived energy, power, and capacity from raw values for implementing coulomb counting to present the state of charge/discharge of the battery. Created the BLE services for each value for delivering the calculated battery state to the user. Implemented flash storage for sudden power failure.

Intugine Technologies, Bangalore

Worked on an industry-grade asset tracking device that used GSM cell tower triangulation to function in GPS blind scenarios and successful delivery of the product after complete development. Worked closely with the founding team since ideation to the productization of the device. Also, was involved in power optimization of the device, which resulted in increasing it over twice the life of the closest competitor.

Handled the Embedded team of four individuals as the team lead.
Worked on the complete production (including BOM reduction) of the GSM-based tracker.
Created the circuit design and testing methodology of the tracker.
Fetched data using AT Commands such as setting APN, sending the location to the dedicated IP address, MNC, MCC, latitude, and longitude, etc., of the device. Achieved high accuracy using cell triangulation method.
Implemented the SMS diagnostic feature for GSM Portable tracker used by the mentioned clients.

Responsible for the delivery of devices to the clients and managed the product with testing and modification after its delivery.
Implemented and enhanced the defined sequence and combination of operations for better efficiency, and scalability of the product.
Battery Management: Increased the Life of GSM portable tracker from 9 days to 30 days with same battery by reducing its power consumption. Later the device was used by Flipkart, Myntra, Furlenco for fleet tracking & many other logistic companies.
Memory Management: - Resolved memory issues as the device was constrained with 2KB SRAM.

Worked extensively on Nimble, a gesture and voice-control operated wearable smart ring.
Nimble contains a 9 axis motion sensor, microphone, touch sensors, microprocessor, and Bluetooth low energy, with a rechargeable battery, in a tiny wearable form factor.
Designed the PCB for the touch sensor of the product - Nimble, a smart ring - in KICAD. Configured the touch sensor to read raw count, difference count, and baseline details and send the data to CY8CKIT042-BLE using I2C protocol using PSOC creator. Implemented low-power with an average current consumption of 5 µA.
Read different angles using MPU6050/MPU9250 and PSOC creator to get the real-time motion data for gesture control. Later on, the acquired data was sent to the phone app using BLE services.
Took Practical data using MPU6050 & sent it to Nordic Nrf51822 using Keil through I2C Protocol & analyzed it.
Enabled Nimble to be a beacon, designed firmware of beacon which advertises after detecting motion with a customizable time interval using PSOC creator on CY8CKIT-042-BLE.
Implemented low power for battery optimization.

Worked on Nimble-Portable Charging box - used as dual way charger - that included end-to-end designing.
Designed and tested the circuit, along with the BOM construction.
Designed the PCB with Gerber development using KICAD, and tested it.
Handled the Firmware development - in embedded C, using Arduino.
