I was based with EON in the UK (one of the big six energy provider companies in the UK), where I work
ed as a Technical Analyst in the operations team, working in a DevOps process environment supporting
specialised in house and 3rd party systems for EON Solution Support UK. The team was both 2nd and
3rd line support, specializing in monitoring batch jobs (reading unix logs, fixing and re-running
batch jobs), monitoring client servicenow tickets from the front end GUI and fixing them in a timely
manner so the users can continue to work. We also did a lot of change delivery (PL/SQL), testing,
and deployment. A lot of operational engagement was required, working with project teams and
managers to support implementation of changes. We used AGILE methodology as part of our development
process which included daily stand-up meetings.
