Skills

I’m Penny, a three-times certified Salesforce professional with over 5 years experience in the charity sector.

I learnt Salesforce by accident when a previous employer undertook a big systems overhaul. Having sworn I ‘wasn’t a techy person’, I discovered an unexpected passion!

Whether it’s tracking your fundraising pipeline, recording a beneficiary’s journey or wanting to demonstrate your impact, I understand the needs of non profit organisations and can work with you to make sure that you get the best out of your technology.

I have experience in app integration (DocuSign, SDocs, Formstack, Roll Up Helper, etc), NPSP, EDA, Experience Cloud (formerly Community Cloud), and have extensive experience working with charities and local government.

I'm an expert in automation- Workflow, Process Builder and Flow, and I'm also learning Apex.

Project history

09/2019 - 04/2021
Salesforce Functional Analyst, Real Systems
St Mungo's (Public service, 1000-5000 employees)

I worked for Real Systems, the in-house Salesforce consultancy at St Mungos. Our clients
include local authorities, organisations working to end homelessness, and other charities
around the UK.

My role involved gathering and interpreting client's requirements into a specification,
designing and building new systems or changes to existing systems. I troubleshooted issues
via our helpdesk, delivered demos and ideas to potential new clients, and kept on top of
Salesforce's new features and releases.

Projects included designing and building a database to support the Everyone In scheme
which housed thousands of rough sleepers in hotels during the pandemic, and integrating an
online form to gather outreach data for a HIV charity.

I also began learning Apex coding to further my technical abilities, and gained my Advanced
Administrator and Platform App Builder certifications whilst in this role.

11/2016 - 09/2019
Network Officer
School for Social Entrepreneurs; Then Network and Community Officer (Public service, 10-50 employees)

I joined School for Social Entrepreneurs, a charity providing learning programmes for those
starting or growing community or socially focussed businesses, in November 2016 as
Network and Programmes Administrator. The role covered a broad range of administrative
tasks, including taking on Salesforce administration.

I spent a large proportion of my time working on the overhaul of SSE's Salesforce database,
involving a large amount of data cleaning and entry, providing support and training to users,
and designing the functionality and look of a new org along with the Salesforce Project
Manager. I became a certified Salesforce Administrator in March 2019.

05/2015 - 11/2016
Area Administrator
Beanstalk (Public service, 250-500 employees)

I worked in the London branch of this national children's literacy charity, providing
administration for the recruitment, training and support of its volunteers. Day to day tasks
included inputting volunteer and school information onto the database, conducting telephone
interviews, requesting references, applying for DBS certificates and arranging meetings.
