Joost Verplancke is a freelance technical writer, e-content developer, webmaster and language specialist (www.docdev.be), who worked for major companies like BNPParisbasFortis, Belgacom and SD Worx. In his previous function, he was an e-learning consultant at Synergetics, an Antwerp-based competency automation and e-learning company. He worked at various IT companies and technical writing and translating agencies, where he established documentation departments, developed a wide variety of single-source on-line and hard copy user documentation in several languages, wrote content for websites and press releases, and translated a panoply of subjects, mainly scientific and technical, using state-of-the-art translation database technology.
