SKILLS
Since September 2011
I have always worked as a freelancer, even when I was working for a vocational training school, but in the last few years, I have focussed more on this activity. I have worked as a consultant in some businesses where I conceived and implemented procedures to improve the functionality of the corporate activities and their internal processes.
I have developed verticalized procedures for my customers, starting from the analysis up to the implementation of the project. For some of my clients, I developed the procedures to be installed at their customers. In most of the cases, these procedures were exporting and importing data from and to accounting procedures, payrolls, CRM and ERP.
Installation and implementation of Software services as a service, Data services as a service or Desktop as a service. In these cases by implementing Virtualized Servers, or services on web platforms for mail management, CRM, databases or virtualized Desktops.
Installation and configuration of Zyxel products (firewall, router, wireless and switch layer 2 and 3) as well as other brands.
I have been collaborating with SDL CentroStudi srl, a company dealing in computer products to check and anti-usury on financial products.
From September 2001 to August 2011
Teacher in a vocational training centre, developer and technical assistant for the same centre. In such an environment, I trained young students (14-20 years old) and adults.
I was teaching how to use the PC from the operating system, office automation, graphic design (I introduced Gimp e Inkscape), CAD up to programming. It all depended on the people taking part to the course and the results to be achieved. By the end of the three-year vocational training program, young students were able to have a good knowledge of the most common applications and, sometimes, they were able to carry out extracurricular activities (e.g. the creation of DVDs by using MovieMaker, the realization of a school magazine by using a DTP, website design by using CMS). Adults were mostly dealing with office automation, but in a particular course I was able to specifically train adults on Microsoft Access (a course with Regional funds) and a course on how to create a website (an “ORA” course – vocational Orientation and Reorientation for Adults), during which we were able to publish online the adults’ CV by using a CMS.
During the vocational training courses, some projects were implemented and one of them won a regional prize from the Marzotto Foundation. The title of the project was “L’Italia che vorrei” (“My wishes for Italy”, ndt) and the group of young students won thanks to a comic strip.
From July 2000 to September 2001
Technical Assistant to customers of the company VideoSystem srl. I was helping customers on the phone or at their premises with software and hardware for videotape rental management. I was supporting the head of the customer care department in coordinating colleagues’ interventions to install new rental machines, or to repair or replace those already in place. The job was quite challenging, since assistance was provided every day until 8 p.m., Saturdays included (when work was on rotation). This job ended because the company had to reduce costs and downsizing started from the customer care department. This experienced revealed extremely important because it helped me understand the basis of the relations with customers and their requests when you are to guarantee a certain quality in the after-sales service.
From February 2000 to July 2000
Technical Assistant at KeyComm srl. The company worked in the web sector with associations or private clients for the installation and assistance on routers, modems, hardware and software proxies, PC configuration and servers for connection sharing. In addition to the work at the customers’ premises, I was assisting also the company system analyst. It was an extremely interesting job, as I had to cope with all the aspects of the web profession.
From 1997 to 1999
HTC srl in Vicenza (Italy). Technical Assistant and Programmer. The job was mainly connected with systems analysis, including installation, PC and windows server configuration. Development of verticalized applications for customers using Microsoft Access and Visual Studio. It has been an extremely important experience as I had to deal with several aspects of computer advice. I delved into the analysis and the possible solutions to be supplied to customers, as well as their implementation, if needed. I also learned that sometimes it is better to look for something already made-up, rather than trying to tackle something new.
From 1994 to 1996
Consultant at Giemme Style S.p.A. to realize a detailed bill of materials of the company’s products. This was to speed up the realization of items from raw materials to final production. In addition, it had to help understand the real costs of each item. The collaboration ended when the company achieved its goal, i.e. when the bills of materials had been implemented.
From 1993 to 1994
Technical assistant at ABC informatica srl in Bassano del Grappa (VI) – Italy for Apple products. Thanks to this experience, I delved into the Apple world. I had to face and cope a completely different operating system and a working environment with respect to Windows, both from the system as well as the programming point of view. Most of the customers were professional graphic designers, printing houses or firms.
From 1992 to 1993
I worked for a professional engineering business owned by Mr Todesco in Bassano del Grappa as a graphic designer, for building and land survey. As well as a graphic designer, I also worked as the internal system analyst. In the office there were Windows and Macintosh computers.
From March 1992 to October 1992
Vocational Training Course at FATEBENE FRATELLI in San Giacomo di Romano d’Ezzelino (VI) - Italy about CAD – CAM. In such occasion we used Linux systems and, in addition to this, in the evening I attended a course about MSDOS and programming.
