Freelance Translator/ Architect
Autonomo
01.2008 - today
I am a native Spanish-North American freelance translator (certified by Calamo&Cran, Professional Language and Editing Applications Center) based in Madrid, Spain. I work with written texts from paper or electronic source, from English into Spanish and vice versa.
I am also an experienced and qualified architect (ETSAM), having studied architecture in Spain and worked in several architectural studios. This and my Spanish and English background gives my clients a unique approach to translations in the fields of architecture, arts, construction and technical engineering.
I was born in New York and lived there as a child. When I moved to Spain went to school at King’s College, where my education was in English. Therefore I am bilingual in Spanish and English. However, since I have been living in Spain for over thirty years, if I am made to choose, I feel more comfortable translating from English into Spanish. Never the less I have experience translating in both directions.
At present I’m working as a freelance translator trough Voice Archive for clients such as HP, SanDisk, Hairer or Vestas. I will be glad to provide you a recent example of translated texts if you so desire.
Best regards,
Cristina
