Home based role, looking after multiple customers on Oracle/Solaris based
systems/applications, responsible for daily checks and admin tasks, also backups using TSM,
EMC SAN skills. Patching for Solaris based systems but also cloud based Linux/Solaris VM's,
reporting and diagnosing hardware faults and reporting/logging with third parties, meeting
engineers on site to get these fixed in a timely manner. Another role is to assist in
migrating Linux servers into an azure cloud environment, also make OS changes to insure a
smooth transition.

Working as a SC Solaris administrator within the DBA team doing daily administration tasks,
such as daily checks, security issues, patching schedules, OS hardening, keeping
certificates up to date & quarterly password changes. Working as a team we migrated both
Solaris and the databases from Oracle T4 platforms to Oracle T7's, configuring networking,
VLAN, routing, subnetting as Logical Domains understanding of virtualisation technologies
with NetApp/Nimble SAN. Gaining experience in configuring SIEM, Qualys, & SolarWinds also
migrating from NetApp SAN to Nimble SAN from an OS/DB perspective, this also included
setting up a DR environment. Another task was to install, administer and configure SAMBA,
this included setting up shares that linked into the DB also NFS shares to Microsoft
systems. Another task was to work with the IT Cyber Security Manager; I would look after
calls coming into the Security Queue and either deal with or pass on the issues to the
relevant team.

the implementation of the live environment which including creating the training
environment. On reflection of the last 4 years, I have enjoyed the challenge of learning
something new and seeing a project from start to completion, thus adding to my engineer
skill base, with a much more administration role. This has increased experience within the
development stage and has given me an increased understanding of the systems enabling a
knowledgeable response to errors and developer's questions on what can and cannot be made.

and experience of protocols and procedures, including project consultancy which included
logistics and administration of 8 site rollouts. Implementing company policy and assisting
the customer with upgrades and maintenance of live systems. Working with servers and
networks SUN and HP based. 14 years' vast experience on systems within a customer facing
role gave me skills and knowledge that enabled me to progress into a more administration
role.
