Responsibilities:
Advisor to the Member State co-chair for the European eHealth EU Member State Expert Group (eHMSEG), the main EU expert body responsible for the day-to-day management of the cross-border eHealth Digital Services Infrastructure; Advising and managing Member States in overcoming legal, organisational and management issues concerning the cross-border exchange of patient data in the EU; Supporting and coordinating the EU Member States' decision makers and implementors in their national deployments of cross-border electronic healthcare services within the scope of the Directive 2011/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011 on the application of patients' rights in cross-border healthcare (Cross-border Directive).
Legal Work Group leader: Coordinating EU Member States in aligning legal and regulatory requirements for implementing the cross-border electronic health services, especially concerning the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR), Regulation (EU) 2014/910 (electronic Identification, Authentication and trust Services - eIDAS Regulation) and the Directive (EU) 2016/1148 (NIS Cybersecurity Directive), consulting with the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), and Member States' Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) on risks to data processing in cross-border healthcare.
X-eHealth Task force leader: Responsible for managing Member State partners in developing and implementing the "EU Electronic Health
Record Exchange Format" (EEHRxF), facilitating the exchange of the European Hospital Discharge Report and producing a high-level report on
policy, legal, cybersecurity and organizational challenges for cross-border interoperability of healthcare data in the EU.
