Challenge :
Challenge :Ref,(Jay khaware,canada,+14163993257)
- The client’s legacy ERP (SAP B1) suffers from lack of automation elements and efficiency.
- To fill this gap SAP s/4 Hana has been proposed.
- The challenge is to define efficient business processes involving material management and procure to pay processes
- Implementation of Materials Management module for the proposed ERP i.e S/4 Hana.
- The solution includes finalizing master data parameters for enabling procure to pay process.
- A forecast based Material requirement planning (VV) has been designed to cater the customer demands.
- Planning strategy “40” along with forward consumption has been configured as per demand profile and
- Optimized demand planning by analysing 24 months consumption data and fitting efficient forecast algorithms that led to 20 % improvement in forecast accuracy and implementation in S/4 Hana in forecasting view of material master
- Optimized inventory by configuring MRP parameters like lead time and safety stock service levels
- Defined pricing procedure for both imports and domestic with chargeable volume concept for freight.
- Maverick spend has been prevented by designing a release strategy and has been implemented to block purchase orders exceeding the threshold purchase order value.
- Subsequent processes like vendor returns, third party procurement has been designed and implemented
- Enabled integration with other modules like Extended Warehouse Management via inbound delivery confirmation.
- Defined functional specs for automation in project like Auto EAN generation, Auto French translation etc
- Rebate management has been configured via settlement management in new s/4 Hana
- Business blue printing, project management, issue resolution, manuals and SOD preparation.
Challenge :
- The challenge is to minimize working capital in form inventory(Spares) without sacrificing service levels
- The solution is built of Single Echelon Optimization(optimization around Distribution Centre(LDC))
- Created root cause analysis (RCA) for increased inventory inside the Logistic Distribution Centre (LDC).
- Several root causes like demand forecast inaccuracy, long supplier lead times increased the Reorder Point (ROP).
- Supplier constraints like MOQ also contributed to over ordering of inventory. Defined an alert system to prevent MOQ over ordering
- A solution has been designed based on supplier evaluation and correcting demand forecasting procedure like correction of parameter update like model selection, number of seasons, implementing tolerance range in forecasting view of material master.
- In transit tracking report has been designed to evaluate the MRP suggestions.
- MRP type(PD,V2,ND,VV) has been set based on the class of items(A,B,C)
- Discount sale has been modelled as planned Independent requirements in the new MRP
- A lot of dead stock was detected ($2 Mn approx.) due to lack of reports and visibility into the warehouse. This has been eliminated by creating deadstock report with value and other parameters
- Cycle Counting has been re-configured in the WMS and inventory aging report is introduced.
- Currently working on new Implementation for S4HANA 1610 & 1709– EWM on Fiori Apps and Requirement gathering and discussion with Business Owners during AS-IS and TO-BE workshops
