Introduction: 

The site is an information portal for the gaming community. For players, the opportunity is available to buy and sell pumped characters, game items, etc. There is also a forum to enable community members to communicate with each other.

Project Objectives:

The main task set by the client was the growth of targeted traffic to the site. The United States was originally the relevant market. In the process, the target market was expanded to 15 more countries (Western Europe, Asia).

The work was carried out simultaneously in several areas: internal website optimization, link promotion, and outreach in the communities of this game for the purpose of the partnership.

problems on the site:

  1. Missing robots.txt file;

  2. Very weak XML sitemap with extremely few pages;

  3. The site map was overloaded with links - up to 100,000 URLs contained each map;

  4. Missing h1 on 90% of the site’s pages;

  5. 100% pages missing meta description;

  6. Mass duplicates meta title;

  7. Homepage Dubbing;

  8. Filter Dubbing;

  9. Incorrectly spelled canonical links;

  10. The site was not optimized for mobile devices and did not comply with Google Mobile-friendly test;

  11. Google did not want to index pages by defining a Soft 404 status;

  12. And many other mistakes.

Errors were fixed in several iterations. 

Scaling to 15 countries

At first, the client was interested in traffic from the USA. However, it was noticed that traffic from other countries is very active.

When creating the site, scaling to other countries was immediately laid down, but was not implemented in practice. Having justified this to the client, it was decided to translate the site into 15 languages.

We have written a new algorithm for generating metadata in other languages. Now only partially implemented translation - the text content of the pages is all translated, and metadata only partially. This task is in process and is carried out in parts.

Those. in 15 countries, the site was mainly found by English-speaking users. After translating the metadata and headings into the entire language of the page, we expect a good influx of targeted traffic from the local countries to which the site is oriented.

Result of website promotion

 

  • Every month on the site 2,200,000 sessions (from all 15 countries);

  • We got a high quality of generated metadata (Title, Description) - CTR 20.3%;

  • Semantic core average position 7.9.

Introduction: 

The site was under the filter. The traffic of the site sank heavily and the customer refused the services of the previous contractor and the priority was to remove the filter and then increase the traffic to the site.

 

Project Objectives:

We agreed with the client in two stages and at each stage our KPI - the complete lifting of Google’s sanctions and at the second stage - to increase the flow of targeted traffic to the site.

 

Spam links and direct anchor rented links were identified by the site’s link profile. The entire process of cleaning the reference mass was carried out gradually, in several stages.

 
  • Removed links from low-quality PBN;

  • Removed part of rental links from explicit spam sites;

  • Through correspondence with webmasters removed another part of the links;

  • Diluted anchors by purchasing several quality donors;

  • Through Disavow links google dropped about half of the remaining links;

  • Each of these stages was accompanied by a request to crawl the site through the search console Google.

Stages of website promotion

All work was divided into several stages:

Standard problems were fixed:

  1. Main site mirror selected;

  2. Removed standard duplicates, such as /index.php, / home, and the like;

  3. Indexing of pages is configured, technical pages on the site are closed from indexing, such as entering the admin panel, registration page, etc;

  4. There was no h1 header at all on product pages. This title was rendered simply by styling. This problem was eliminated by programmers and a field for manually entering the title wording we need was introduced;

  5. The site also had many metadata duplicates, i.e. different pages contained the same metadata: Title and Description;

  6. This problem was solved at the stage of implementing the generation of metadata for pages;

  7. In order for all pages to be indexed and traffic flowed to them, we needed to help the search engine see them. To do this, we set the task for the developers to install a sitemap generation module. Since the search engine recommends limiting the number of lines in the map to no more than 30,000, we split all the pages of the site into several maps - 22 site maps were made and so we solved the indexing problem;

  8. Pagination pages configured;

  9. Alt for images are written everywhere;

  10. Optimized image sizes;

  11. Browser caching enabled;

  12. The site is put in order according to the requirements of Google PageSpeed ​​Insight.

Result:  

Traffic grew from 30,000 people a month to 150,000 people a month.
