Key achievements and experience:
Responsible for design, programming, maintenance and testing of Computershare's own Fixed Interest System. This resulted in a decrease in the overall number of bugs in the system, and a corresponding decrease in the time needed in user support and data fixes.
Development of an XML based printing utility for the above system. This allows outside printing houses to easily process, format and print client related correspondence. The data can be accessed by a variety of means, web, ftp or e-mail.
Retained Asset Administration (RAA) - Responsible for key design and programming. Programs were designed in a modular fashion, which allowed key parts of the back end processing to be separated from the screen processing. The data processing section could then be used by web interfaces through database hooks.

Additional Responsibilities:
Liaison with clients, internal and external clients (eg Commonwealth Bank), on design and content of new reports.
Discussion with non-technical clients as to key upgrades to system design and functionality.

Key achievements and experience:
End-to end development of a system to track expense invoices, involving:
Writing the specifications based on user requirements
Writing the program
Implementing the systems in the stores
Resulted process improvement by eliminating duplicate data entry, minimising human error, eliminating document transfer between offices and enabling timely payment of supplier invoices. This saved time, money and frustration.
Reduced Setup time for new stores from days to hours by streamlining the creation and roll-out of Suggested Ordering databases for new stores.
This resulted in a saving of time, resources and money for Big W.
Managing the maintenance, design and programming enhancements on the In Store Processor (ISP), a store ordering and stock control system used by all stores. This included:
Monitoring interfaces to a central system and to the Point of Sale (POS) at each store
Managing enhancements to the system such as the addition of a "Repairs System" and the replacement of the manual system for Expense Invoices and Internal Expenses.
Setting up the In Store Processor (ISP) software for new ISP machines at new stores
Managing programming enhancements for the Crossdock Delivery system
Training users and the help desk staff; guiding and mentoring work-experience students
Completing and testing the movement of the ISP system to a new version of HP-UX and a new version of Informix in preparation for a major upgrade of all stores systems.
Managing the installation of a new version of Gentran Electonic Data Information (EDI) software resulting in fewer bugs and a faster running system.
Additional Responsibilities: Consultation and discussions at all levels as to enhancements and new store systems.
