Relevant Business Experience:
*Accomplished CFO, Finance Director and Accounting Manager with significant
experience in the Hungarian market in different industries such as manufacturing,
retail and services. Assignments included re-organization and standardization of
controlling and accounting structures and reporting procedures according to local
and international standards as well as budgeting and forecasting, strategic
planning, project management, treasury and IT.
* Re-organized accounting department of an Austrian outsourcing company in
Hungary including the improvement of business processes and quality.
Established an in-time reporting structure and communicated to external auditors
and financial authorities. Implemented new accounting software systems and
corresponding internal controls.
* Reorganised the financial and accounting area of major production, retail and
service companies. Creating new department structures and new departments
like internal tax and finance departments, streamlining internal work processes
and established internal training. Documented and mapped business processes,
and implemented and performed effectiveness of finance and business controls
framework (risks, controls, policies, procedures, processes, spreadsheets).
*Transferred and standardized financial data and processes from Hungary to the
centralized SAP environment and organization in Germany and re-organized
Hungarian processes to fit into the new standars as well as harmonizing
procedures within the intercompany structure to secure in time data flow.
* Reengineered the monthly close process which enabled the companies to meet
accelerated reporting deadlines required by the parent. Developed the monthly
management report. Conducted financial-, operational, statutory and year-end
audits in Austrian- and Hungarian companies.
*Led the financial department of a European retail company in Hungary (175
shops, 2.500 employees, annual turnover MEUR 400). Responsible for all
accounting and financial activities including budgeting, forecast, monthly- and
year-end-closing. Coordinated different European projects. Introduced corporate
accounting- and reporting standards in the Hungarian business. Re-organized the
in-house tax department. Led the selling process of the operative retail business
to a competitor including the Due Diligence activities.
*Led the financial department in Hungary of one of Europe’s largest suit producers
(1.600 employees). Reorganized the financial department. Introduced general
accepted accounting standards. Implemented new procedures and guidelines to
assure compliance with Hungarian and European VAT- and general tax
regulations. Responsible for the organization and execution of board- and the
annual general meetings. Led and managed the implementation of new ERP
software, responsible for the financial- and procurement part of the project.
Prepared monthly- and annual statements.
*Responsible for Budgeting and forecasting for a major production, service and
retail companies and the identification, coordination and monitoring of companywide
cost mitigation efforts. Created new forecasting tools and models to produce
more accurate financial projections, simplified the budget process (3-year-plan).
