I graduated with M.A. from the Freie Universität Berlin. My subjects were Indian Philology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies. During my academic education I acquired skills as an accurate and professional translator and a researcher. I also have a great knowledge of computer software (MS Office, Open Office, Google Docs, etc.) and CAT Tools (Déjà vu, MemoQ, OmegaT).
I have mastered written and spoken English, German, Hindi and Polish (which is my native language). My academic educational background in linguistics has had a tremendous effect on my language capabilities, vocabulary and quality of translation. I have a distinctive feel for a language and extraordinary analytic skills, which makes it possible to work fast and precise at the same time. My wide cultural knowledge is giving me a profound text understanding. I enjoy working with the texts, I am very alert to any nuances of language, the skill I find irreplaceable as a translator. My enthusiasm, as well as my linguistic abilities is the best motivation for working as a freelance translator.
During my internship and work as a translator for Polish, English and German for Plinga GmbH, the leading social games publisher in Europe I gained a lot of experience as a translator of the texts with IT and gaming content. The scope of my work at Plinga GmbH was:
- Translation of social games from English and German into Polish, namely: Army Attack, Big Business, Blackwood & Bell Mysteries, Governor of Poker, Heroes of Neverwinter, Lucky Space, Monsters and Treasures, My Adventure, Resort World, Toy Wars, Wedding Street, Witches Diaries, Zombieland.
- Translation of mobile games from English and German into Polish, namely: Mal mir Was, Sunny Puppies – Baby Dogs.
- Updates of social games, namely: City of Wonder, Family Barn, Fairy Farm, Monsters Planet, Pet Party, Plinga Play, Twilight Stories.
- Creation and translation of internal documents, graphic assets as well as FAQs, forum messages and online marketing material.
- Proofreading of translations of social games from English and German into Polish.
- Quality assurance and language optimization through in-depth game testing.
- Preparation and maintenance of bilingual glossaries (English/Polish and German/Polish) containing gaming related content for CAT-Tool technology.
