Description

Worked as a Software Engineer in MERCI - the MERIS Catalogue and
Inventory. This site providees you with services for accessing ENVISAT (Satellite) MERIS
data products. The web interface Merci provides user management, System monitoring,
automated processing of various levels of data products. Merci web interface use struts
framework to present and process Envisat data. Use of DTO and Hibernate to persist data
permanently into a Mysql database. Use of Ant tool to build and deploy the application. Use of
various design pattern e.g proxy or factory.

Worked as Student Assistant in Content Management System which use
different devices as PDA and Mobile devices.The goal of the project is to access information
in form of structural and binary form on some devices. Pocket PC (PDA) especially if it exists
distributed on different servers. Use of J2EE platform in which I have used different
technologies like JWSDP 2.0 on server side to access information from the Oracle database
and convert it in to WSDL format and transfer it to the client as PDA developed in .Net
Compact farmework.Java beans and java classes implement business logic and handle
transaction with oracle DB.Use of Ant base build tools like wscompile and wsimport for
compiling and deploying web services on Application server.

Description

Worked as Research Officer (IT) in IDIS (Integrated Data Information
System) Database a joint venture of cooperation between International Water Management
Institute (IWMI) Srilanka, Pakistan and Friedrich-Schiler University (FSU) in Jena, Germany
The overall objective of IDIS is to input, store manage, display and retrieve Geo Spatial
Information (Maps, Time series, Metadata etc). The IDIS is a web based geo-relational
database initiated by Challenge Program (CP) on Water and food and the International water
management institute (IWMI. We have used ASP technology for front end and used
PostgresSQL Geo Relational database for back end. Worked in Colombo in order to
implement geo-relational distributed DBMS within the network of IWMI regional offices and
developed web based software procedures for data input, data access and data presentation.
