  • I am a very experienced Enterprise/Solutions Architect, using TOGAF 9.1, Right Step (HP IT Transformation framework) and member of The Open Group. I was part of the HP Architecture Office in Brazil, responsible to provide Architecture services and support for companies in Brazil, Latin American and occasionally in the US and Europe. From 2011 to 2016, I was directly involved on IT transformation projects helping companies to develop IT Strategies that better match business objectives, understanding mission, vision and business goals to evaluate how IT can be more effective, identifying current IT situation, designing future mode of operation and putting together a transformation plan to get there, together with the proper governance to make sure the change will be effective.

  • I am an experienced Project Manager, in applications and infrastructure projects (local and Global), using PMI methodology as well as HP methodology and tools, Agile and waterfall. I have led multi-country teams in India, Argentina, Malaysia and Chile, from 2005 until 2014. I was in charge for a major data center shut down for Shell in Rio in 2013.
  • Writing and presenting are things that I love to do. At HP, I used to write for the HP Application Services Blog, and some other sites in Brazil. I was a member of the Global HP marketing program. I usually write about new trends like IoT, Blockchain, gamification and Enterprise Architecture and IT Transformation.

Project history

Inter-American Development bank (IADB) (current since April 2016)
Position: Infrastructure Architect – EUC – Architecture (Washington, DC, USA)
                                   
            Currently working at the IADB in Washington DC as part of the Computer Renovation Project. I am responsible for the Architecture, overall quality of the project, process design, current and future architecture evaluation, quality assurance, documentation and training.
            The project’s first phase will replace all computers in 29 different countries. The next phase is the Windows 10 migration (using SCCM, WSUS and MDT), planned to roll out in 2017 and 2018. I am the Architect responsible for the Windows 10 deployment process, the tools and capabilities to deploy and maintain the OS (Task Sequences, deployment packages, scripts and Azure Logic apps), the fine tune of the infrastructure, as well as the quality of the image being used, and the support to all Country offices to achieve the project goals (delivering training to desktop support and our service center).
            Additionally, I am involved on small projects related to Microsoft Azure (Log analytics, Upgrade Compliance, Upgrade reediness, Azure logic apps and Azure Bot) and Device Security (Windows Defender and Advanced Threat Protection).

            In 14 years, I had the chance to work on many diverse types of engagements and clients, playing also distinct roles.
In the last 4 years, I was part of the Architecture office in Brazil, working as Solutions Architect, responding to RFPs and RFIs, delivering presentations to clients, supporting our sales team, working on IT transformation projects, designing solutions and supporting projects in many clients from different industries. In my last 2 years, I was dedicated as Enterprise Architect to one of our clients in Rio de Janeiro that belongs to Communication, Media and Entertainment industry (TV Globo). Relevant Architecture projects delivered:
  • Unimed Brazil: IT Transformation project, designing the roadmap for transforming Unimed and its branches to be better prepared for a Digital Unimed (move to the cloud, app rationalization, data center optimization, etc).
  • Martins atacadista: delivered a mobility transformation workshop/assessment;
  • Seguros Unimed: delivered a mobility transformation workshop/assessment;
  • Klabin: delivered an applications transformation workshop/assessment, emphasis on analytics, Data management and Internet of Things.
  • Cetelem: Re-host assessment (migration of all applications from the mainframe without changing the code)
  • BCI (Santiago, Chile): Re-learn to identify business rules embedded in the source code
For Globo TV, the main projects delivered were:
  • Cloud assessment, with objective to understand the current state of Applications and infrastructure in preparation to move to a cloud enabled environment (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS);
  • Migration of one of the financial applications from the mainframe to Java (mainframe shutdown);
  • SOA infrastructure: Design and deployment of Oracle SOA suite and governance;
  • Assessment to deploy an Architecture Office;
            In the past 10 years at HP, have worked as Modernization Consultant, Lead Technologist (CTO), Project Leader and Product developer.
            On 2012 I was the project manager and architect responsible to shut down the Shell data center in Rio (moved services to a regional data center). All services managed by HP were migrated and the servers donated. Services included DHCP, DNS, File Server, Anti-virus, etc.
For 2 years (2010-2012), had a Lead Technologist (CTO) role at HP in Rio de Janeiro, where was responsible to review Proposals to ensure the technical solution was accurate, support projects and leaders with technical matters, drive innovation and evangelize our technical staff.
Starting in 2010 I was also the Architect responsible for the HP Data Center in Rio (supporting around 700 users and several clients). Main responsibilities were:
  • Application servers supporting some clients (deployment, maintenance, patches, security, availability);
  • Telephony and Networking;
  • DNS, DHCP and file systems;
Before 2009, I worked in a product development (Modernization offering) being part of the team that maintained one of HP´s global modernization product. In this role, which had part of the team at London, Chennai, Detroit and Rio, I was one of Re-learn product leaders, responsible to develop new versions, test new tools, review partnership proposals, create training material and deliver train-the-trainer sessions globally.
 From 2005 to 2006, I worked as Project Leader for Sprint Nextel in the US, leading people at Argentina, US and Brazil. This team was responsible to maintain a credit card system with interface with billing. Prior to Sprint Nextel, I worked for Health Care accounts (Blue Cross Blue Shield and Wellmark) as consultant/Team Leader/Develop.
I am one of the virtual coaches for the Top Gun program which objective is to train Senior Consultants to deal with real business issues. There are only 300 Top Guns at HP from 300.000 employees.                                       
Fininvest S/A (April/99 thru April/2002) –Financial company leader in Brazil in loans for low-income people)
Position: Senior System Engineer / Team Leader (Rio de Janeiro/Brazil)
Responsibilities: Part of the team responsible for accountability applications and Risk Analysis Reporting, used by managers and company decision makers. Was responsible to maintain Cobol Cics applications running, as well as the batch cycle.
Nacional Bank – Unibanco (May/1993 thru February/1999) – One of biggest Banks in Brazil at that time
Position: System Engineer (Rio de Janeiro/Brazil)
Responsibilities: Part of the team that managed the communication between clients and the bank, using electronic data interchange, what, at that time, was most likely executed thru Private networks and Proprietary software. Communication made thru mainframes and local area network PCs.
