Description

I’m Louis, the CEO of Soflyy. We make Oxygen, a WordPress plugin that lets you visually design your entire WordPress website: https://oxygenapp.com/

We’re looking to add a third engineer to the Oxygen team.

You’ll work alongside our existing engineers, adding features and fixing bugs.

Technical Skills

We’re looking for someone who is very experienced when it comes to our stack. You’ve built and shipped websites and decent-sized web apps with the following technologies:

  • AngularJS
    jQuery
WordPress APIs (plugin & theme dev)
    HTML5
    CSS3
    PHP
    MySQL
JavaScript (You’ve done web application frontends in JS… not just websites)
    Drag & drop functionality

    Team Work

We’re looking for someone with experience working as part of a team, where multiple engineers were all working on the same code base. We use GitHub and expect you to have experience with Git or SVN.

    Time Requirements

We don’t care about your time zone or what hours you work, as long as you can work for us for at least 30 hours per week.

    About Us

Working for us is awesome. We’re 100% remote. Set your own hours, get work done, and at the end of the day you can be proud that you’ve worked on some seriously cool stuff. Oxygen is quite new, but Soflyy has been profitable for almost as long as we’ve been in business, and our other product WP All Import is very popular and loved: https://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/wp-all-import.

    Compensation

We pay hourly. Our expected budget range for this position is between $60k and $100k per year for full time work, which works out to between $30 and $50/hr. The actual compensation offered to you will be based on your skills and experience relative to our other engineers. If our most experienced engineer on this project worked full time (40 hours/wk, 50 wks/yr), they’d get a little over $120k/year + bonuses.

    How to Apply

    • Please briefly describe your experience with each of the technologies in our stack:

      • AngularJS (most important), jQuery, JavaScript
      • WordPress
      • HTML5 & CSS3
      • PHP & MySQL

      Bonus:

describe drag & drop functionality you’ve built. (Examples could be dragging a handle to change a parameter value, or re-ordering and nesting lists)

    • Have you participated in the development of any web apps that have elaborate and complex JavaScript frontends? If so, send me a link so I can see the app in action, and briefly describe the parts that you built.

    • Have you worked as part of an engineering team where each member worked on a different piece of the same release?

If you have experience with everything listed in 1, and you can answer 2 & 3 with a yes, you've got a VERY good chance! We get very few applications that meet these requirements.

    APPLY FOR THIS POSITION

E-mail and answer the questions in "How to Apply" section above. We're offering a $1000 referral bonus for this position. Refer someone to us that we hire and makes it past a 30 day trial period and we’ll send you $1000.
