LEAD SYSTEM ENGINEER (Linux/REDHAT, VMWARE)
This contract is with a consultancy to be on an assignment at a large European site in Luxembourg as follows:-
Description
Be responsible for
- the evaluation, testing, integration and maintenance of software and hardware products in the domain of personal and departmental software and equipment.
- design and build complex system architectures in the domain of the ICT department.
- design, build, operate, maintain and improve all the hardware and software components dedicated to the ICT Security team
- take part in technical projects (such as new product deployment and migration), setting up lab or test environments, perform products review, test, selection processes
- know the best practices for system administration and security hardening, based on a process- oriented and methodical approach
- document configurations and changes, be able to write high quality scripts and have practical experience of running critical systems based on distributed architectures.
Qualifications:-
- Min. Bachelor studies and 8 year experience in IT after secondary school
- Min. 6 year experience as a system/network administrator
- Experience as a team leader or project leader for complex security-related projects
- Capacity in evaluation and testing of hardware and software products in the
- domain of office automation;
- Capacity in integration of hardware and software products and support of their entire life cycle
- (upgrades, patches, etc.) including security fixes;
- Experience in implementation and operation of software deployment infrastructures;
- Windows admin 80%
- Linux (preferably RedHat) admin 20%
- Network basic knowledge
- Splunk basic knowledge or at least be able to take the product in hand quickly
- VMWare knowledge (be able to setup virtual machine in lab env)
- Fluency in English and French
