Role requirements

For a digital agency in Barcelona we are looking for a talented web developer with a proven track record of creating great websites and a good all-rounder.

You'll work within a small team to deliver high quality webshops, for global E-commerce businesses from concept to set-up and on-going management. In addition, you'll be responsible for the administration of all the company's internal IT systems and services, providing technical support to all staff within the organisation and overseeing the technical requirements of the company's various offices.

Web development principle responsibilities:

  • Creating and developing client project briefs; translating business needs into technical briefs for third parties/external development teams
  • Collecting and presenting information for concept meetings (website types, pricing etc)
  • Setting -up and managing website administration from domain set up and hosting, emails, phone lines and payments through to on-going site management
  • Ensuring 3rd party suppliers are meeting deliverables, flagging any issues and taking appropriate measures to meet deliverables
  • Working in conjunction with the Project Manager to track deliverables
  • Successfully managing the communication flow between the Operations manager, Project coordinator, CEO and 3 rd party suppliers
  • Accountable for signing off final solutions submitted via outsourced providers from a technical stand-point

Systems administration principle responsibilities:

  • Installation as well as maintenance, configuration, documentation and asset tracking of internal IT computer & network equipment systems, applications, tools and services
  • Installation and configuration of system software like operating system and drivers, system patches, anti-malware and updates
  • Administration of IT resources and tools that the business and employees rely on for daily operations including directory services, company e-mail, documentation and collaboration tools, etc. and assist accordingly with any requests related to these services
  • Diagnosing internal hardware, network and software problems, and replace any defective components accordingly
  • Liaising with vendors and company personnel in order to coordinate purchasing and support of internal IT resources and supplies as may be required
  • Implementing and maintaining internal IT systems based on specifications provided by the Head of Infrastructure
  • Local assistance with any employee IT requirements and general technical concerns at the company's offices
  • Assistance with on boarding and off boarding of company staff including user account creation, maintenance and termination
  • Administration of the physical access control system for the company's offices

Skills required

Essential Skills/Knowledge:

  • 5+ year of software project management experience, preferably in a website creation business involving remote team members
  • Previous experience with design and layout of a website, from the appropriate look and feel depending on the vertical, through to on-going site maintenance
  • 2+ years of previous working experience in office IT administration or technical support
  • Strong proficiency with administration and security hardening of desktop operating systems including Windows 10 and Mac OS
  • Highly competent in SQL databases, DNS Management, Cloudflare, Web Hosting and Mail Hosting
  • Highly competent in CSS, HTML, Java, PHP, AJAX, and other programming and Scripting languages
  • Proficient with shopping carts like Magento, Miva Merchant, Shopify, Woocommerce and Volusion
  • Skilled in Wordpress PhotoShop, Illustrator, and other Adobe CS6 tools
  • Knowledge of HTML 7 CSS and ability to fix issues
  • Experience installing and customising Wordpress
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, ability to learn quickly and assist others in a helpful and patient manner
  • Willingness to be available to respond to critical internal IT related issues that may occur outside regular working hours on an as-needed basis
  • Can-do attitude
  • Ability to develop a strong working relationship with all colleagues

Beneficial Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience and familiarity with administration of the following tools would be considered an advantage: Google GSuite, MS Office 365 and Slack
  • Experience and familiarity with administration of computer networks and related skills and components (eg cabling, IP Addressing, WIFI, configuration of modems, Switches, Firewalls, etc)
  • Possession of any of the following certifications would be considered an asset: ITIL, Microsoft Certified Professional & CCNA
