Description

Finance Analyst required for an 11 month assignment with a global technology company, based in Cambridgeshire. The Finance Analyst is required to start immediately.

The role includes responsibility for the up to 10 entities annual statutory accounts, all other internal and external reporting requirements, provisioning, reconciliation, analysis, accounting and reporting. The team manages accounting transactions and ensure that they all comply with legal, tax and internal requirements.

Responsibilities of the Finance Analyst:

  • Partners with the businesses to ensure that the capital strategies are operationally supported and strategically focused to secure the greatest return on investment for the global company.
  • Gathers financial data and performs financial analyses and reporting (eg, profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, pricing, etc.) to influence decisions within the business and to drive cross-business initiatives (eg, Mergers and Acquisitions).
  • Drives the forecasting process (weekly, monthly, and long term) by analysing trends within the businesses and ensuring alignment with business- and corporate-wide objectives.
  • Communicates and drives adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the organisation's financial goals and policies.
  • Has the fiduciary responsibility to represent financial results correctly both internally and externally.
  • Ensures strong business controls.

Knowledge and experience required of the Finance Analyst:

  • Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues, and is regarded as a subject matter expert.
  • Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods.
  • Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
  • Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
  • Frequently represents the organization to external customers.
  • Typically 6+ years of experience as a financial analyst.
  • Thorough level of knowledge of tactical accounting/financial analysis.
  • US GAAP knowledge would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Good spreadsheet/excel skills (required), other systems used are SAP and various web based tools (desired)
