Compensation Specialist - Canary Wharf based - Contract role

Bank of America Merrill Lynch is currently seeking to recruit a Compensation Specialist within their Compensation and Benefits department in their offices based in Canary Wharf.

Responsibilities of a Compensation Specialist:
*Working with Senior HR managers and LOB executives to understand their needs
*Bespoke reporting on data, trend analyst, commentary & tracking
*Work with the HR generalists/global & regional team mates in co-ordinating data files
*Data manipulation and interpretation on all aspects of compensation
*Maintaining records of compensation commitments, updating of systems and obtaining supporting documentation for decisions
*Direction of work to be given by direct supervisor and working alongside peers
*Ad hoc analysis of issues, such as FX impact on incentives/benchmarking of salary & incentive information
*Assistance with the completion of regulatory filings and building of data requests.

Requirements of a Compensation Specialist:
* Compensation background required, ideally within an investment banking environment
* The ability to explain complex compensation issues to senior individuals in a straightforward manner is key.
* Strong technical background and ability to demonstrate good commerciality
* Ability to use own initiative and judgement
* Excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to operate at all levels
* Ability to be proactive and work under pressure
* Good IT skills such as excel and word
* Demonstrate good presentation skills
* Ability to work with low levels of supervision on projects
* Enthusiasm to work within a broader Compensation & Benefits team and be flexible enough to work across the team to cover overlap areas
* Experience of managing multiple projects
* Knowledge of developing new processes across HR
* Excellent client relationship skills in order to maintain a close working relationship with executive and line management and key clients within the business
* Be a team player across a number of different teams both within and outside HR
