Description
Harvey Nash is seeking an experienced Chief Internal Auditor to join a large public sector client based in Edinburgh city centre. The role is a short term contract position which is expected to run from the beginning of January 2016 to the end of February 2016.
The Role
The purpose of the role is to provide an independent and objective assessment of the clients control environment and the overall risk management and governance processes. You will also be responsible for providing an annual statement of assurance on the clients overall control environment. Other responsibilities of the role will include:
. Analysis and assessment of the uptake of audit recommendations
. Looking into how well business risks are being managed
. Analysing the reliability and integrity of the company's financial and operational information
. Creating strategic and annual audit plans
. Delivering the internal audit service within budget constraints
. Liaising with senior management and maintaining communications with senior staff
Experience Required:
. Professional Qualification (CCAB/IIA) or equivalent experience
. Proven experience in a similar role, ideally with strong public sector knowledge
. Excellent communication skills
. The ability to work without direction and to manage conflicting priorities
