Category Manager - OJEU knowledge, MCIPS qualified
My client is a Public Sector company based in Liverpool City Centre. They are looking to expand on their procurement function and now actively seeking to recruit a Category Manager to help drive forward the overall Procurement function of the company. The role will be on an initial 3-month contract and offers a good wage. You will be working between the Corporate Category manager and the IT Category Manager.
The scope of the role is more operational but will have an aspect of strategic procurement as well. You will be tasked at driving forward major category management initiatives and negotiations, whilst providing appropriate procurement expertise to internal stakeholders and venders in the business as well as ensuring compliance with all OJEU requirements. As well as making OJEU documents you will be required to make tender documents also.
Would be preferable you have knowledge of Pro-Contract computer system but not essential.
Job Description
- Drive forward a Procurement strategy and strategic sourcing methodologies whilst being sensitive to the public sector's sustainability criteria
- Instigate procurement best practices across all levels of the business
- Be the forefront for contract negotiations within your specific indirect categories and consistently review existing contract arrangements to cut out risk over the lifetime of the contract
Essentials
- A Degree educated or similar with MCIPS preferable
- Experience in strategic sourcing across a number of indirect categories
- An understanding of OJEU would be preferable but full training will be given if you lack OJEU understanding
- Excellent negotiation skills and excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage internal stakeholders and venders within a Public Sector environment
- Experience working as a Category Manager at a high level within a Public Sector company.
