CDM-Principal DesignerOur client, a global leading telecommunication company are recruiting for a CDM-Principal Designer to join their business in the United Kingdom.
Position Title: CDM-Principal Designer
Position Type: Contract
Start Date: February 2016
Duration: 3 months rolling

Responsibilities:
- Ensuring legislative, contractual and EHS requirements are understood and designed-in on relevant deployment projects
- Planning, managing and monitoring EHS in the pre-construction phase, including identifying, eliminating or controlling foreseeable risks and ensuring designs are robust from the EHS perspective
- Conducting health and safety specific design reviews throughout the design and construction phases of the project
- Reporting on all aspects of compliance to standards and targets
- Helping compile pre-construction information and providing it to designers and contractors
- Liaising between the designer, principal contractor and partners to help in the planning, managing and monitoring of the construction phase with the preparation of the Construction Phase Plan
- Providing clear, concise and practical EHS advice, and coaching to the extended project team at all stages of the project to promote excellence in risk management
- Prepare/Review and Develop the Health and Safety File with handover upon project completion
- Attend site
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate/Diploma
- Technical, Graduate or Chartered Membership of IOSH
- Extensive experience of construction design process and experience as EHS Advisor (preferably within telecoms/construction/highways)
- CDM management experience and thorough understanding of CDM 2015 Regs
- Strong client- and contractor-facing communication and influencing skills
- Track record of being results-driven
- Design qualification an advantage
- Experience working in and promoting an OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 environment
