Description
Supporting the Chief Accountant to ensure all records are in place to prepare the end-of-year accounts for a local authority.
The postholder will have a detailed understanding of financial accounting requirements, and able to ensure that the Council's accounts are produced in compliance with all statutory accounting requirements.
Required experience:
- Previous experience working for a large local authority involved in the year-end process
- Significant experience with one of the following: - Capital Accounting, Collection Fund Accounting (council tax collection), General local government year end financial accountancy
- Working in a highly regulated and controlled environment
- Working in partnership with others including external agencies
- Anticipating and responding to developing service needs
