Description
Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting a Financial Accountant to be based in London for an initial period of six months with possible extension.
The work will include:
Detailed analysis of the underlying Balance Sheet Accounts, re-analysis of Reserves and Fixed Assets and correction of opening balances.
Review and challenge accuracy of transactions.
Assisting in both the production of the accounts for the core department and group consolidation. This includes liaising with consolidated entities to ensure the accuracy and completeness of consolidation packs.
Assisting in the resolution of Audit queries, by liaising with the National Audit Office. Ensure that all requests are passed on to relevant policy staff, chase progress, and collate replies.
Work with the Consolidation and General Ledger Team Leader, to identify and implement improvements to the Department's Chart of Accounts, with the aim of simplifying the production of the Department's accounts in subsequent years.
Working across the team, general ledger, rationalization and the way the core accounts are produced.
