Equities Analyst - Operations

A Leading Financial Service are looking to hire an experienced Equities Analyst who will be responsible for evaluating, processing, and pricing all equity products held within firm's funds.

These instruments pose a unique challenge particularly in areas such as valuation and reporting. The team identifies and mitigates all risks associated with each instrument ensuring there are robust controls in place.

Your key accountabilities

Operational
*Accurate calculation and checking of daily asset prices
*Documentation and processing of daily controls
*Query resolution, exception monitoring, reporting and escalation of recurring issues
*Assist in testing/implementation of projects which will impact the department
*Awareness of market issues and how they relate to the products under management
*Remains focused on the detail when doing repetitive checking tasks
*Develops and extends own knowledge base and brings new knowledge into the team/project
*Builds in depth knowledge required for the job
*Collating data for Vendor Management Meetings
*Attending quarterly Vendor Management Meetings

Team Working
*Collaborate with colleagues to generate and deliver effective solutions
*Seek to build and establish appropriate networks within the department and the business
*Share knowledge and new information with colleagues
*Support and commit to decisions reached within the team
*Escalate issues in a timely manner
*Show awareness and honesty about the limits of own knowledge and know when to seek advice

Communication
*Communicate complex issues clearly and simply
*Understands the purpose of communication and audience requirements.
*Keeps line manager informed of progress, any issues affecting delivery and escalates in a timely way

Your skills and experience

*Experience in financial services
*Ability to work under pressure & to tight deadlines in a time critical environment
*Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
*Organised with excellent attention to detail
*Numerate and analytical
*Self starter and self motivating
*Strong planning and organisational skills
*Team player
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
*Business/Mathematics/Economics/Statistics/Quantitative degree or qualification. - beneficial

*Desirable skills
*2-4 years experience (ideally in financial services)
*1 Year pricing experience
*Previous use of Reuters and Bloomberg
*Previous experience of security pricing for Retail and Institutional Funds such as equity, fund of funds, Fixed Income or derivative pricing.
