Description

Scrum Master required for a 12-month contract with our leading Banking client in Singapore;

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a distributed Scrum team, located in different locations (Hong Kong and Singapore).
  • Organizing, facilitating and participating in Scrum Ceremonies (Daily Scrum's, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective etc.).
  • Working and cooperating with the Project Manager, Product Owners, Management and other involved stakeholders (located in different locations).
  • Acting as a Scrum process keeper.
  • Providing necessary updates about progress (velocity) and status.
  • Helping those outside the Scrum Team(s) in the organisation (business functions and departments) to understand which of their interactions are helpful to maximize the value as created by the team(s).
  • Continuously seeking and implementing improvements in the agile/Scrum process.
  • Maintaining and updating JIRA (collaboration tool) on a daily basis to track progress (velocity).
  • Organizing and conducting Scrum related training sessions (eg about the Scrum framework, Product Owner role, how to work with JIRA) for involved stakeholders.

Skills and competences:

  • Understand basic fundamentals of iterative (agile) development and incremental delivery.
  • Able to share knowledge/experiences with others in the organisation about the Scrum framework by organizing and conducting knowledge sharing and training sessions.
  • Able to leverage on a variety of useful techniques to provide value to the team(s).
  • Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures.
  • Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a Development Team.
  • Understand user story creation, Product Backlog tracking, and task definition.
  • Has outstanding communication, presentation and documentation skills.
  • Able to work with speed and accuracy towards deadlines.
  • Fluent in (Business) English.
  • Experience in an international IT department at a bank in Asia is a big plus.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Degree holder in Business Administration/IT with banking experience is a must.
  • Professional Scrum Master Certification.
  • Systems knowledge (eg Triple'A-Avaloq) is an advantage.
